Gordie Shaw is a friend of Ellie Whedon and a supporting protagonist from the third season of Netflix's adaptation of Locke & key.

Biography[]

Gordie grew up in Matheson, Massachusetts and was close to his mother. When he was younger, he dated at least two people, a woman and a man. After his first relationship fell through when he could not reciprocate in turn, he developed an intimate romance with the latter. However, his mother rejected Gordie's relationship, and despite Gordie's plea for his mother to accept who he was, their bond apparently soured after.[1]

In his high school years, Gordie attended Matheson Academy where he was immersed in the performing arts. It was there he befriended the Keepers of the Keys, despite not actually becoming one of them. However, his classmates constantly keeping secrets from him, among a tendency to be relegated to stagehand in the schools' productions, made Gordie feel excluded and alienated from his peers. During the production of The Tempest, Gordie stumbled on the Keepers in the art department and found a miniature version of the character Caliban brought to life by the Creation Key. Gordie initially threatened to tell the school about the incident, but the Keepers use the Head Key to remove his memory of the event before he could do so, in order to preserve the secret of the keys. They then hide the Creation Key inside Gordie's head for security.[2]

With no memory of this event, Gordie then dedicated his life to the performing arts. As an adult, Gordie became an esteemed thespian. He returned to Matheson to supervise filming of The Splattering II by the Savini Squad.[3] Eventually, he was interrogated by Frederick Gideon and subsequently impaled to fatal effect when he tried to defend himself from his breaking and entering. He ultimately perished, but not before the Lockes visited his head with Sam Lesser via the Head Key to get the Creation Key.[2][1]
